The ITSM community is migrating towards
a new certification scheme (version 2 to version 3) for ITIL®. This
may seem confusing but it isn’t because similar to any
other product/service the ultimate goal is to find the right
solution for you or your client’s organization.
What are the key differences between v2 and v3?
Version 3 is an extension of v2 that recognizes
processes must be aligned to business goals to achieve success.
Most of the best practices from previous versions of ITIL remain
the same and are still valid.
The ITIL Qualification Scheme has been approved!
Which version should my organization
or client select?
 |
Currently there are two routes you may embark upon
to receive your certification. Which of these routes
you select is really based upon what you need to get
from the process. |
 |
Other considerations should be the amount of resources
you or your company has already invested in v2. If it is
minimal then we recommend v3. If you have already invested
and it is meeting your current needs then v3 would be a future
consideration. |
 |
For companies who already have invested in ITIL then
why not consider a bridging course for all employees?
